POWER RANKINGS
In effort to determine how players have ranked against each other overall since we began tracking stats in Got Game XII, we created the Power Ranking System. Numbers for every player who have competed in at least one game since February 9, 2003 have been included in this survey.
To gauge 'the Best of the Best',
such categories as Wins, Losses, Winning Percentage, Yards Forced 'YF' and Yards Allowed 'YA', were considered and are included below. However, what clearly appeared to provide the best conclusion was through the differential between the amount of Points Forced 'PF' (on average) versus the amount of Points Allowed 'PA' (on average). The end result is either a positive or negative number, rounded to the nearest tenth.
While
we've found this to provide the best way of determining how you measure up in the field, this system is flawed in that blowouts do affect overall results. Consequently, this is an in exact gauge as there are players ranked above you that you might easily beat no matter how many times you face them, and (likewise) those below you who might be able to school you just as often. However, the stats recorded do provide some insight on your game, blow-out or not.
A Skunk Rule would be employed in our events, but as this is football, unexpected turnovers can occur... and we wouldn't want to deprieve the 'Skunkee' from acquiring any Garbage Points in that stage of the game. Still if there's little stopping someone from running up the score, we don't want that reflected in the Power Rankings below. So we will ensure that when a blowout happens (a game where someone rolled up eleven or more TDs to his/her opponent's 35 or less), know that exceeding ten scores against five will be corrected back to '70' points. The yardage total will not be adjusted for either team nor will the loser's point toal be adjusted as that was all the points he/she could muster.
